Last updated: 4 August 2026 · Template — not yet owner/legal reviewed
Ekasi Locksmith ("Ekasi Locksmith", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website and locksmith services, why we collect it, and the rights you have under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
1. Who we are
Ekasi Locksmith is a locksmith business trading from Grabouw Mall, Grabouw, Western Cape and Emms Drive, Nyanga East, Nyanga, 7755, Western Cape.
Registered company name and registration number: [to be confirmed by Ekasi Locksmith]
VAT number (if registered): [to be confirmed by Ekasi Locksmith]
Registered/postal address (if different from the trading addresses above): [to be confirmed by Ekasi Locksmith]
2. Information Officer
Under POPIA, every organisation that processes personal information must designate an Information Officer responsible for compliance. The name and contact details of Ekasi Locksmith's Information Officer are [to be confirmed by Ekasi Locksmith]. Until this is confirmed, direct any privacy query to the contact details in section 8.
3. What we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us:
- Enquiry form details — name, phone number, the service you're asking about, and any message you type. The form does not send this data to a server we run; it opens WhatsApp with your details pre-filled so you can send the message to us yourself.
- Direct contact details — anything you share by phone, WhatsApp, email or social media when you contact us about a job (e.g. name, phone number, address for a call-out, vehicle or lock details).
- Job-related information — details needed to carry out locksmith work you've requested (e.g. vehicle make/model, property address, type of lock).
We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising cookies on this website. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.
4. How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange or carry out locksmith work.
- To contact you about an existing job (e.g. confirming a call-out time).
- To keep basic business records, such as invoices or job notes, where relevant.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for marketing you haven't asked for.
5. Legal basis for processing
We process your information because it is necessary to perform a service you've requested, to take steps at your request before providing that service, or because you've given consent (for example, by submitting the enquiry form).
6. Sharing your information
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We may share it with:
- WhatsApp/Meta — when you use the enquiry form or WhatsApp links, your message is sent via WhatsApp and is subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
- Service providers who help us run the business (e.g. hosting), where required.
- Where required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, including any legal or accounting requirements. The specific retention period for job/customer records is [to be confirmed by Ekasi Locksmith].
8. Your rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- Ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you and request a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct or delete personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, or collected unlawfully.
- Object to our processing of your personal information on reasonable grounds.
- Withdraw consent, where we rely on consent, at any time.
- Complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) if you believe we've handled your information unlawfully — see section 10.
To exercise any of these rights, see our Contact & Data Requests page.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we hold, appropriate to the nature of a small local business. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
10. Complaints — the Information Regulator
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal information, you can lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator:
